The 50th annual event is April 14, 2011
For the last 51 years, Texas State students and organizations have looked forward to participating in one of the longest-standing and successful traditions of any college campus in Texas: the Kappa Sigma Alumni Association Fite Nite!
Fite Nite was originally held in the old Evans Auditorium on Texas State’s west campus. The event began as elimination-style where contestants fought one another until only one winner was left standing. Over the years, the format has evolved into what is today a fully sanctioned amateur boxing event.
This year’s card promises to be filled with non-stop action, with fighters representing fraternities and other student organizations. We have also teamed up with several local boxing gyms that provide us with amateur fighters. Three years ago Fite Nite was proud to feature its first girl-on-girl fight. Since then, girl-on-girl bouts have become the main and most anticipated fights. In addition to all the great action planned, we are pleased to announce that a portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the Capital Area Food Bank.
